In my book Meditate, I mention that there are as many ways to meditate as there are beings on this planet. Meditation is a deeply personal journey of self-discovery, and the method you choose becomes your unique style of practice. It’s important not to give up after your first attempt—finding the right technique takes time and exploration.

Many meditation practices have been popularised in Western culture, but did you know that techniques like mindfulness are often just segments of a much broader meditative journey?

My mission is to teach meditation to those who seek it. While I specialise in truth-seeking meditation, I encourage you to explore complementary practices that can support your journey towards point of enlightenment. Your point of enlightenment is simply the awareness you need to live authentically and fully—right up until your last intended breath. We’ll delve deeper into these concepts as we progress through this learning journey in following weeks.

Transcendental Meditation

Transcendental Meditation (TM) is a widely recognised practice that involves silent chanting to induce trance-like states and heightened awareness. Beyond these subtle shifts in consciousness, TM is a powerful tool for manifestation and overcoming limiting self-beliefs. When practised with dedication, it can reshape your mindset at a fundamental level.

How To Practice TM

While TM may sound complex, the actual practice is simple. The challenge lies in maintaining discipline and consistency, as chanting an affirmation or prayer directly influences the dormant energy within every cell of your body.

If you struggle with limiting self-beliefs, lack motivation, or feel uninspired by life, TM could be an ideal starting point. This practice infuses your core beliefs with fresh energy. Imagine that every cell in your body holds programming shaped by past experiences, including trauma. By chanting or silently chanting a powerful affirmation, you can counteract those limiting beliefs, allowing positive vibrations to resonate through your entire being.

Steps to Practise TM
  1. Create an Affirmation
Choose a word or statement that aligns with your intention. It should reflect how you want to feel—perhaps the opposite of your negative thoughts and emotions.
  2. Prepare for Practice
Proper preparation enhances your experience. Find a comfortable space where you can meditate without distractions. Settle into a relaxed state before beginning your chant.
  3. Begin Chanting
Start by repeating your affirmation quietly in your mind. Gradually say it out loud if you feel inclined to, beginning softly and slowly. As you continue, increase both the pace and volume, as if generating a whirlwind of magnetic energy around your body.
  4. Commit to the Practice
Remember, you are speaking directly to every cell in your body—transforming dark energy into light, and dormant energy into an awakened state. Keep chanting as if addressing each individual cell. Continue until you feel yourself breaking free from the constraints of limiting self-beliefs.

TM is a simple, engaging, and accessible practice. If you're unsure where to start, try using this ChatGPT prompt to generate a personalised affirmation:
